How It All Began

We got our start back in 2000 as a tax firm. While we’ve had a few name changes since then, the services we offer our clients have changed even more. We’ve expanded way beyond preparing taxes and have become a full-service accounting firm that offers bookkeeping, controller, and outsourced CFO services—and we still provide those always-important tax services, of course. We officially became The Accounting Guys, LLC, back in 2013, and since then, we’ve grown faster than we could’ve imagined. In 2020, we were a small firm of roughly 20 employees. By the end of 2023, we employed 75 bookkeepers, CPAs, tax preparers, and other accounting professionals. We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but we don’t plan on slowing down any time soon. We continue to strive to improve our services and find ways to better support our clients’ bookkeeping and accounting needs. With our recent development of the EmpowerReports software through Lightspeed®, The Accounting Guys is prepared to take our clients to a greater level of service and support than ever before.

What We Want to Accomplish

Here at TAG, we’re about more than just the numbers. Our mission has always been to empower our clients to take control of their businesses by providing the data necessary to make better business decisions. But it’s about more than just giving you accurate data; it’s also about getting that clean data to our clients faster than ever before. We believe that providing rapid, reliable accounting services has driven our success with our clients and the growth we’ve experienced.

We start serving our business clients by fixing processes and cleaning up accounting records. Then, we guide you through data entry, followed by strategy and efficiency training. Our goal is to work ourselves out of a job by making our clients self-sufficient, which is why we’ve also built a blog of insider tips and advice, and a YouTube channel dedicated to accessible learning for dealerships looking to take control of their books. While we can certainly handle all the numbers for you, we believe that helping you understand those numbers can help you build a better, more successful business—and that’s what we want for all of our clients.

Since 2013, we've found our niche in providing accounting and booking services to powersport, marine, and RV dealerships. As the only accounting firm that specializes in Lightspeed®, a DMS and accounting platform for dealers, we’ve come to understand the needs of dealerships better than any other accounting firm. We’ve taken our commitment to serving dealers one step further by developing the EmpowerReports software for Lightspeed, allowing our clients to better take control of their data on a daily basis.
